SMOKINCAT began as chaos.

No roadmap. No team. No hype. Just one question from artist and mental health advocate Marc Craig:

What happens when art meets crypto head-on in the real world?

Originally launched as a meme coin with zero expectations, SMOKINCAT evolved — from spontaneous experiment to living movement. It now stands at the intersection of street art, mental health storytelling, and decentralised funding, proving that even a meme can grow a soul.

Seeded with £100 in SMCT by Marc Craig, and grown through community support.

Once it hits £600, it activates a mural, a print sale, and direct support for artists living with the featured condition.

CHAPTER ONE: HANDS OF TRUTH

Twelve conditions. Twelve stories. Twelve murals.

Chapter One is the first full-scale rollout of the SMOKINCAT model.

The Process:

1. Interview — Marc meets with someone living with a specific mental health condition.
2. Digital Handprint Portrait — A symbolic image of their hand (not their face) is created, echoing prehistoric cave markings. A personal stamp of identity.
3. Print Sale — 20 limited-edition prints of the portrait are sold at £25 each. £15 covers production/shipping; £10 funds the mural.
4. VOID WALLET Activation — The wallet begins with £100. When it hits £600, £500 in SMCT is distributed to 5 artists with lived experience of the condition — including the portrait subject. These artists are also featured in a digital group exhibition on smokincat.io.
5. Live Mural Painting at Leake Street — The mural is painted on two 8ft x 4ft panels (joined to form an 8x8 ft mural) on-site at London’s Leake Street tunnel.
    
   • Important Note: The mural is only visible while it is being created.
   • This live creation process is intentional — designed to spark conversations in real time with the ~20,000 people who pass through the tunnel daily.
   • The process becomes the message. The act of painting becomes public dialogue.

The VOID WALLET is a regenerative funding loop — transparent, ethical, and community-powered.
