Win one of these SMOKINCAT canvases by going up to MARC CRAIG on the evening of the SHOWCASE 2 event at 26 Leake Street on 11/1/25 and say MAKE ME A WINNER. One canvas per person only . Good luck!
Following the success of the first SHOWCASE event in 2024 at 26 Leake Street, organized by STOCKE and SHAUNA, SHOWCASE 2 promises to be another landmark celebration of creativity and collaboration. Featuring 80 talented artists from the vibrant Leake Street art community, the exhibition highlights diverse voices and fosters a dynamic space for creative expression and connection. Among the featured artists is Marc Craig, who will be showcasing his thought-provoking artwork, FALLING CROWN.
The FALLING CROWN motif, an upside-down crown drawn from the SMOKINCAT universe, serves as a powerful symbol designed to spark inclusive and positive conversations around mental health. This artwork is the first in a series of ten 1m x 1m canvases, created to raise awareness of global mental health challenges. With an estimated 1 in 10 people worldwide experiencing mental health issues during their lifetime—likely an underreported figure—the series seeks to bring attention to this important topic.
The original digital artwork, created in 2024, will be presented as a framed print at this one-night-only event on Saturday, January 11th, at 26 Leake Street. With nearly 1,500 tickets already sold, this is a unique opportunity to experience an eclectic and inspiring collection of works from the Leake Street community.
The first FALLING CROWN painting is now available for £2000. For that along with the painting you also get £200 worth of SMOKINCAT (SMCT) and a graffiti workshop at Leake Street for 5 people. I addition to your own 5 graffiti workshop is another 5 workshop spaces will be offered to those who either are dealing with mental health challenges or those who support/care for them.
Contact MARC CRAIG on the email link to the right if you are interested in buying the canvas.
Following the success of SHOWCASE 2, we’re excited to announce that SMOKINCAT will be hosting a group exhibition at THE SIDINGS in WATERLOO STATION.
Artists are invited to create 30cm x 30cm artworks inspired by Kazimir Malevich’s legendary BLACK SQUARE—a symbol of radical creativity and reinvention.
The exhibition, titled FALLING CROWNS, is free to apply and open to all artists. Click the link below to read Marc Craig’s blog entry, where he explains the concept and how to express interest in taking part. Don’t miss this chance to join a bold, thought-provoking exploration of art and identity.
One of Marc’s other projects is the Ark of Extinction, which he will be touring across 12 locations in the UK this year, starting in Redruth, Cornwall, at the end of February.
This project is a passionate call to action to protect critically endangered species and features exclusive artwork, large-scale murals, and opportunities for community participation.
Through art, it highlights the urgent need for conservation while inspiring creativity and connection. SMOKINCAT will be there by proxy, hitching a creative ride and joining in the fun as part of Marc’s mission to merge art, activism, and community engagement. Marc plans to hide SMOKINCAT around the places he visits.
